Description: JOHN JAMESON, DUBLIN The richly figured arch-top case with book-match inset to the plinth. Full glass panel door to highly figured backboard. Finely carved surround to 12” diameter engraved and silvered dial with subsidiary seconds and signed ‘JAMESON/DUBLIN’. Blued steel hands. The substantially made movement with six baluster pillars, Vulliamy-style dead beat escapement, maintaining power and striking the hours on a large gong. Polished zinc bob to wood rod pendulum Height 6’ 4” (193 cm) John Jameson is recorded working in Dublin from 1848-1880
