Description: The rich mahogany veneered case with sweeping swanneck pediment centred by a brass ball and spire finial, fluted Corinthian columns flanking the typical West Country inner scalloped edge to the hood door frame, canted corners to the slim trunk with a very pretty floral urn inlay to the trunk door, boxwood line inlays to the base raised on a moulded plinth The pretty floral painted 12” wide Roman dial with delicate buds to the spandrels, subsidiary seconds and date arch above makers signature ‘Thos. Thacknell/Bristol’ , Pretty pierced and engraved hands The eight day movement with anchor escapement and striking the hours on a bell Fully overhauled and guaranteed 7’ 2” (217 cm.) high, excluding finial
