Description: A very pleasing early style of wall clock with its narrow turned surround and heavy cast brass bezel to the deep convex dial. This clock is very attractive and has a rich colour to the case and lovely flame mahogany veneer to the lower back box. The plates, as one would expect from a clock of this quality and period, are well shaped with sweeping and defined shoulders to the plates which are held together by ring-turned pillars and the swept design of the backcock is equally pleasing. These clocks are a staple in any collection. They have a subtle presence when they are in the home giving a rich and resounding tick that gives a a very pleasant background to the home environment. A wonderful kitchen clock but equally suited to a hallway or livingroom. I grew up with this style of wall clock and have owned many in my lifetime but this is a particularly handsome example. 14" (37 cm.) diameter
